Rogue Farmers (“Rogue Farmers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to ensuring that our website (the “Site”) is accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to learn about, browse, and purchase our products with dignity and independence, and we work to make that experience as inclusive as we can.

This Accessibility Statement describes the standards we follow, the measures we have taken, the known limitations of the Site, and how to reach us if you encounter a barrier or need assistance.

Section 01

OUR COMMITMENT.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We design and maintain the Site with the goal of providing an experience that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for visitors using a wide range of devices, browsers, and assistive technologies. As the Site evolves, so does our approach: we test new features for accessibility before launch, monitor for issues, and remediate problems as we identify them or when they are reported to us.

We recognize that no website is ever “done” with accessibility, and we welcome feedback from people who use the Site to help us improve.

Section 02

CONFORMANCE.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the recognized international standard for web accessibility and is the benchmark commonly applied under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and analogous state laws.

We are also tracking and working toward conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which adds additional success criteria addressing focus appearance, dragging movements, target sizes, and other improvements for users with cognitive and motor disabilities.

Conformance status: The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the Site do not yet fully meet the standard. We describe the known limitations in Section 6 below.

This statement does not claim that the Site is fully ADA-compliant or fully WCAG-conformant. It describes our good-faith ongoing efforts toward those goals.

Section 03

FEATURES.

We have implemented or maintain the following measures on the Site:

Structure and Semantics
  • semantic HTML markup for headings, landmarks, lists, and forms
  • logical heading hierarchy on each page
  • ARIA roles and attributes where native HTML is insufficient
  • skip-to-content links on pages with extended navigation
Keyboard Accessibility
  • all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, menus) are operable using a keyboard
  • visible focus indicators on interactive elements
  • logical tab order that follows the visual reading order
Visual Design
  • text and background color combinations chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios
  • text that can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and zoom levels
  • no reliance on color alone to convey information
Images and Media
  • alternative text for informative images
  • decorative images marked so they are skipped by assistive technologies
  • captions or transcripts provided for video content where feasible
Forms
  • form fields labeled clearly and programmatically associated with their inputs
  • error messages that identify the field and describe the issue
  • form instructions presented before the relevant inputs
Navigation and Orientation
  • consistent navigation across pages
  • descriptive page titles and link text
  • breadcrumb navigation on product and category pages, where applicable
Time and Motion
  • no auto-playing audio or video with sound
  • animations and motion effects can be reduced via the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting
Section 04

COMPATIBILITY.

The Site is designed to be compatible with current versions of the following browsers and assistive technologies:

Browsers
  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
Assistive Technologies
  • JAWS (Windows)
  • NVDA (Windows)
  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • TalkBack (Android)
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking (voice control)

The Site may not function as intended in older browsers, browsers with JavaScript disabled, or assistive technologies more than two major versions out of date. We recommend keeping your browser and assistive technology current for the best experience.

Section 05

TECH STACK.

Accessibility of the Site relies on the following technologies working in combination with the user’s browser and any assistive technologies installed:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • WAI-ARIA
  • SVG

The Site is built on WordPress and is served over HTTPS.

Section 06

KNOWN LIMITS.

Despite our efforts, parts of the Site may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party content. Some content on the Site is provided by third parties (for example, payment processing widgets, embedded social media content, customer review widgets, or shipping-rate calculators). We do not control the accessibility of third-party content and cannot guarantee that it meets the same standards as content we author directly. Where feasible, we choose vendors with strong accessibility records.
  • User-generated content. Product reviews, comments, photos, and other content submitted by customers may not include alternative text or other accessibility metadata. We encourage contributors to provide accessible content where possible.
  • Legacy content. Older blog posts, recipes, or product images may not meet our current accessibility standards. We update legacy content as part of routine site maintenance and on request.
  • PDF documents. Some downloadable documents (such as product information sheets, growing guides, or seasonal newsletters) may not be fully tagged for accessibility. We are working to remediate these as we identify them, and we are happy to provide an accessible alternative on request.
  • Live and seasonal content. During harvest seasons, product launches, or promotional events, new content is added rapidly and may temporarily lack full accessibility metadata until reviewed.

If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please let us know using the contact information in Section 9 so we can address it.

Section 07

TESTING.

We assess the accessibility of the Site through a combination of methods:

  • Automated testing using tools such as axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse, and similar accessibility evaluation tools, run during development and periodically against the live Site
  • Manual testing, including keyboard-only navigation, screen reader walkthroughs of key user flows (homepage, product pages, cart, checkout, account), and color-contrast verification
  • User feedback, which we treat as the most important signal — real-world reports from people using the Site with assistive technologies surface issues that automated tools miss

Major changes to the Site (new templates, checkout flows, or features) are reviewed for accessibility before launch.

Section 08

ALTERNATIVES.

If any part of the Site is not accessible to you, we will work with you to provide the information, products, or services through an alternative method. This may include:

  • reading product information aloud over the phone
  • taking your order by phone or email
  • sending product details, ingredient lists, or other information in an accessible format
  • arranging assisted ordering or alternative delivery methods where feasible

There is no charge for these alternatives. Contact us using the information in Section 9 and let us know what would help.

Section 09

FEEDBACK & CONTACT.

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Site. If you encounter a barrier, have a suggestion, or need assistance accessing any content, product, or service, the fastest way to reach us is through our contact form. You can also reach us by email or phone:

Rogue Farmers — Accessibility
MailMailing address — TBD
City, State, ZIP — TBD

When contacting us, please include:

  • a description of the issue or the assistance you need
  • the URL or page where you encountered the issue (if applicable)
  • the browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using (if known)
  • the best way to reach you with a response

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within two (2) business days and to provide a substantive response or proposed remediation within ten (10) business days, though complex issues may take longer to resolve. If we cannot resolve an issue immediately, we will explain the next steps and a reasonable timeline.

Section 10

COMPLAINTS.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your concern by contacting us again with the subject line “Accessibility Complaint.” Complaints are reviewed by our team. You also retain the right to pursue any remedy available to you under applicable law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and analogous state laws such as California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act and Oregon’s accessibility statutes.

Section 11

ONGOING WORK.

Accessibility is part of our regular operating practice, not a separate initiative. As part of our ongoing improvement program, we:

  • include accessibility review in design and development workflows for new features
  • train staff who create or maintain content on accessibility basics, including alt text, headings, link text, and document structure
  • review vendor and platform updates for accessibility implications
  • revisit this Statement at least annually, and whenever the Site undergoes a significant redesign or platform change
Section 12

CHANGES.

We may update this Accessibility Statement to reflect changes to the Site, our practices, or applicable standards. The current version is always posted at this URL with the “Last Updated” date at the top.
